The Las Patronas Spirit of Giving Award was instituted in 2003 to salute the strong partnerships that help Las Patronas fulfill its mission to aid San Diego’s nonprofit community.

For 2011, the recipient of this award is Jim Roth, Director of Audio Visual & Production Services at Meeting Services, Inc. (MSI) in recognition of not only their contribution to the Jewel Ball’s bottom line, but also for their commitment to making the Jewel Ball the wonderful event is is with their countless hours of contributed services. For the last 25 years, Jim Roth and his MSI Production Services crew provide technical expertise for all the lighting and sound and have become an integral part of our team as we build the Jewel Ball. Jim and his talented group spend months planning and four grueling days and nights to innovatively give the Jewel Ball its glitter. Regardless of what we ask of Jim – he makes it happen!
Las Patronas presented the award at its annual Beneficiary Luncheon in January 2012, the day we presented funds to our major beneficiaries. And since MSI has played an enormous role in our success, it is only fitting that Jim be there to share the experience. We are happy to honor Jim’s creativity, knowledge and his continual Spirit of Giving!
